Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on states in the South East to key into the strategies of the Federal Government on ease of conducting business so as to develop the area economically.
The governor made the call at the South East Regional Stakeholders Forum on Ease of Doing Business held in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.He called on its own own strength to ensure business development. Made a case for the enforcement of consumer protection guidelines. He maintained that though of doing business, challenges abound, the South East must rise above them and guarantee a business environment. “We must find a way to look at these issues and sort them out until we could attain a good business environment,” he explained.
Udeh Okochukwu, the Deputy Governor, in his remarks, said the state of the market of the nation required the rejigging of Abia’s procedure and laws to create participation in growth and an enabling environment for private sector growth. Also, Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku, at a keynote address, reiterated the nation’s commitment to the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).He called on the South East to come together to make sure its service throughout the area for the development of SMEs.
